World Meeting of Families

Pope Francis intends to meet recently engaged and married couples when he visits Ireland in August. The opportunity to meet the Pope will take place in the Pro-Cathedral Dublin on Saturday 25 August 2018. A couple from each deanery will represent Kilmore and will be chosen by lot. To be included in the draw please submit the following details to Rev. Ultan McGoohan at pastoralservices@kilmorediocese.ie by lunchtime on Friday 13 July 2018. 

  • Names, contact address, email and mobile number(s).
  • The date of the planned or recent sacramental marriage (within the past twelve months) and the Church in which the marriage will take place or has taken place.
  • Confirmation that the couple is available to attend the meeting with Pope Francis on Saturday 25th August at 3.30pm.

POP UP GAELTACHT  – A FIRST FOR LEITRIM AND A FIRST FOR THE CONNACHT FLEADH

Have you heard of a POP UP GAELTACHT? Well this weekend Leitrim’s first one takes place in Ni bhFionns on  Sunday the 8th July  from 8-11pm.  If you’re not familiar with these events they are just simply an opportunity to speak Irish at whatever level you’re happy with, in a social relaxed atmosphere.  POP UP GAELTACT have become very popular and while initially were based in Dublin they are now happening all over the world -so its only right that Leitrim gets in on the act .Come along to the POP UP GAELTACT and enjoy a great evening with music, fun and good company.   TG4 will also be in town on the night to film live for FLEADH TV so it promises to be a great night in Ballinamore. Don’t miss it  – you will regret it.
